Pip has been working with our maths department since 2018. The work she has done has had a transformative effect on the department during this time. Her unrelenting focus on ensuring that students have a deep and meaningful understanding of maths rather than just learning by rote has fundamentally changed the way that our teachers think about their planning and curriculum. Her sessions are interactive and challenge our staff, and the feedback from the department has been overwhelmingly positive. In our Ofsted inspection in 2019 the leadership of the maths department was highlighted as a particular strength and as a result, “pupils learn and make strong progress,” in mathematics. The work that Pip has done with the department has been a significant factor in the growth and success of the department.

Pip has been a partner to the school over a 15 month journey in transforming our maths: we have moved our 2 levels of progress from 62% in 2013 to 94% in 2015.
